Furthermore, RP-C8940 is the aircraft involved in this particular incident.

As per Planespotters, RP-C8940 is a 17.1 year old Airbus A320 that was delivered to the Malaysian subsidiary of the group in June 2007.

The aircraft was delivered to Philippines AirAsia in June 2018.

Furthermore, of the Airbus A320 variant, the Filipino subsidiary has 25 of them in their fleet.

Moreover, of that 25, all but nine are in active service, with an average fleet age of 16.2 years.
