As per Reuters journalist Steven Scheer, it is understood El Al will order 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

It is unclear what variation of the MAX will be ordered, but we do know the valuation is at around $2-2.5bn.

Furthermore, it is understood that deliveries of the aircraft will begin in 2027.

Such an order also continues to back up the airline’s position on remaining all-Boeing throughout this.

El Al have been busy with aircraft acquisition over the course of the first quarter of this year.

Via their investor presentation, the airline has also purchased three more Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

Of that three, there is also options to purchase an additional six.

So all of this brought together represents a growth strategy that the Israeli airline is taking at present.

As noted by Scheer, it is understood that this was an easy sale for Boeing to achieve with the 30 737 MAX aircraft.

Furthermore, as he states, the airline had no choice but to choose the U.S, given the close relationship between the two countries.

Airbus having an uphill battle would come as no surprise in that regard.

Either way though, this is another big sale for the American planemaker as they continue to deal with struggles surrounding production and safety concerns.
