Eurowings has this week announced the expansion of flights into the Middle East with a new route to Jeddah & increased frequencies to Dubai.

The German carrier has experienced strong growth in the region, and are wanting to capitalise on it as soon as possible.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

The new flights to Jeddah with Eurowings will begin in November 2024 on a six times per week basis.

Such flights will operate from their operations in Berlin and Cologne.

Eurowings CEO Jens Bischof said the following on this:

“With attractive daily flight times, best prices starting at 179 euros and fast direct connections from Stuttgart and Berlin, we have already won over many customers.”

“This success is motivating us to significantly increase frequencies next winter”.

As for Dubai, Eurowings will serve the route up to 10 times per week.

This breaks down into daily services from Berlin, and then three weekly flights from Stuttgart.

That, alongside the Jeddah flights, breaks down into the following:

  • From Berlin:
    • Seven weekly flights to Dubai.
    • New route – three weekly flights to Jeddah.
  • From Cologne:
    • New route: Jeddah three times per week.
  • From Stuttgart:
    • Three weekly flights to Dubai.

In total, this means that Eurowings will offer around 19 flights per week to the Middle East from Germany.

Overall…

It remains clear that Eurowings has found a strong gap in the market to capitalise on.

With the airline advertising fares from as low as 179 EUR one way, the penetration against local competitors is on.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on how the flights to Jeddah & Dubai perform over the Winter 2024/25 schedule.

But for now, let’s wait and see if anymore announcements are due to be made regarding their presence in the Middle East.
