Last week, a Lufthansa flight between Frankfurt and Seville had to divert to Madrid following the first officer onboard becoming unwell.

Lufthansa flight LH1140 is a routine scheduled flight between Frankfurt and Seville, with the affected rotation being operated by D-AISO.
As per data from Planespotters.net, D-AISO is a 15.5 year old Airbus A321 that was delivered to the German carrier back in August 2008.
Of the A321ceo variant, the airline has 57 of them in the fleet, of which 46 are in active service and 11 are currently parked, holding an average age of 15.1-28.6 years.
Lufthansa flight LH1140 departed Frankfurt at 0956 local time on February 17 and proceeded in a south-westerly direction towards Seville.
Upon reaching the south of Madrid, the First Officer mentioned that they were feeling unwell, which prompted a u-turn to Barajas Airport.
From there, commenced a heavy descent in order to get to the airfield as quickly as possible, with the aircraft landing around 18 minutes after the complaint was first raised, as per reporting from The Aviation Herald.
After five and a half hours on the ground in Madrid, LH1140, which originally started in Frankfurt, continued on to Seville safely.
It is unclear what the nature of the illness was with the first officer onboard the Lufthansa flight, but was serious enough to cause a diversion.
