It has emerged that a KLM Boeing 787 between Amsterdam and Mexico City has made a diversion to Reykjavik, Iceland.

KLM flight KL685 is a routine scheduled flight between Amsterdam Schiphol and Mexico City, with the affected rotation being operated by PH-BHH.
As per data from Planespotters.net, PH-BHH is a 7.3 year old Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner that was delivered to the airline back in August 2016.
Of the 787-9 variant, the Dutch carrier has 13 of them, of which all of them are in service and hold an average fleet age of seven years.
KL685 departed Amsterdam at 1447 local time and proceeded westbound to the Atlantic to cross over to Mexico City.
Upon reaching Greenland airspace, the decision was made to turn around and divert to Reykjavik, which at the time is the only feasible diversion spot.
It is unclear at this time what the nature of the diversion is, with the aircraft not squawking 7700, the general emergency code throughout this.
Such issues could range from a medical diversion to an issue on the aircraft that is under control, to any other number of issues within this.
With the issue unknown, this will remain a developing story until we can ascertain what the problem is onboard KLM flight KL685 between Amsterdam and Mexico City.
