Yesterday, a United Airlines (UA/UAL) flight from San Francisco to Mexico City diverted to Los Angeles due to a hydraulic issue.
This is yet another incident involving a flight from the airline after a chaotic week with incidents.

UA821 – San Francisco to Mexico City: Los Angeles Diversion…
United Airlines flight UA821 is a routine scheduled flight between San Francisco and Mexico City.
The involved aircraft, which diverted to Los Angeles, was operated by N485UA.
As per data from Planespotters.net, N485UA is a 22.4 year old Airbus A320 that was delivered to the airline back in December 2001.
Of the A320 variant, United Airlines has 89 of them in the fleet, of which 85 are in active service and four parked.
Furthermore, the average fleet age for that variant in the UA fleet is 25.2 years.
UA821 departed San Francisco at 1302 local time on March 8 and initially proceeded in a south-easterly direction to Mexico City.
After passing the Mexican border, the United Airlines A320 made a u-turn and proceeded to descend into Los Angeles.
UA821 landed safely into LAX after around three hours and 47 minutes in the air.
Reporting from The Aviation Herald mentions that this diversion was caused by a hydraulic issue.
Quite A Few Incidents This Week from UA…
UA821 from San Francisco to Mexico City which diverted to Los Angeles is the fifth incident in a week.
It has been quite a busy week for maintenance teams at United Airlines.
Firstly, a Boeing 737-900 in Houston suffered an engine stall issue not long after departure which landed safely.
After that, a Boeing 757-300 with United Airlines suffered an engine failure whilst enroute to San Francisco.
Not long after that, a wheel fell off a Boeing 777-200 in SFO as well, also resulting in a diversion to Los Angeles.
Finally, a United Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 veered off the runway in Houston after landing as well.
In conclusion, this will no doubt be a week that UA will want to forget in terms of incidents.
All eyes will be on whether anymore happen over the course of this weekend.
