Last week saw Virgin Australia increase it’s Boeing 737 MAX order by six, to bring the overall total to 14 aircraft, as growth continues.
The third MAX 8 arrived in Brisbane not too long ago, with a further 11 expected for delivery next year, with the aircraft expected to enter domestic and short-haul international routes such as Fiji, Bali & Samoa.

Virgin Australia Increases Boeing 737 MAX Order…
The 11 remaining MAX 8 aircraft will be delivered throughout 2024, equating to one new aircraft delivered every month.
The 25 Boeing 737 MAX 10s that Virgin Australia also has on order are to be expected in the 2025 period, which will enable additional capacity throughout the rest of this decade.
Commenting on this was the airline’s Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer, Alistair Hartley:
“Travel demand remains high and we continue to grow and renew our fleet, enabling us to deliver great value and choice in the market”.
“We are investing in our fleet to best meet our customers’ needs while positioning the business for success in the long-term.”
“A more modern, sustainable, and streamlined fleet is central to our ongoing transformation.”
Looking ahead, all eyes will be on Virgin Australia to see how the deliveries of the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft go, as well as what other routes they may be keen to add going into the future.
But for now, let’s see how this airline transforms itself, especially with their sustainability goals by 2030 being in full play.
