airBaltic, Latvia’s leading airline, is expand its network with the introduction of three new routes. These routes will augment the carrier’s offering for the winter season spanning late October 2025 to late March 2026.
The new services are: Riga, Latvia, to Faro, Portugal; Tallinn, Estonia, to Madeira, Portugal; and Gran Canaria, Spain, to Ljubljana, Slovenia.
These additions provide travellers with more sunny destinations to escape the chilly Northern and Eastern European winter.
Answering Seasonal Travel Demand
Mantas Vrubliauskas, airBaltic’s Vice President of Network Management, explained the destination choices. “We analyze market trends, passenger demand, and seasonal patterns to craft a diverse travel portfolio.”
“Our new routes offer more leisure options for winter travelers, and increased flight frequencies on existing routes cater to growing demand.” This approach ensures airBaltic meets its customers’ needs effectively.
To improve connectivity, airBaltic will increase flights from the Baltic capitals—Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius—to Amsterdam, a key European hub.
Riga will have 19 weekly flights, while Tallinn and Vilnius will each offer 14. This expansion facilitates seamless connections to numerous onward destinations.
Additionally, airBaltic will strengthen its presence in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with daily flights from Riga and four weekly flights from Vilnius, doubling the previous frequency from the Lithuanian capital.

Annual Customer Survey 2025
The Latvian airline recently summarized the results of its annual customer survey for 2025. The extensive study was conducted among nearly 12 000 direct customers who have travelled with airBaltic. It provided valuable insights into passenger habits, preferences, and satisfaction levels. The results confirmed the carrier’s strong market presence in the Baltics and Finland.
The survey covered respondents from more than 25 countries, with a focus on airBaltic’s home markets – Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Finland. Data was collected via online interviews in March 2025.
airBaltic remains the airline of choice for 89% of respondents, reflecting a consistently strong preference across all surveyed markets.
The airline is particularly well regarded in Latvia (top preference for 96%), Estonia (93%), and Finland (90%).

Extension of Select Summer Routes
The airline is also extending select summer routes into winter. Flights from Riga to Pisa and Porto will continue through November, while Riga to Catania will start earlier in March 2026, giving travellers more leisure choices.
For those seeking winter sun, airBaltic will offer three weekly flights from Riga to both Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada in Egypt. The airline will also resume flights between Riga and Dublin, Ireland, with two weekly services.
Winter sports enthusiasts will find plenty to love, as airBaltic serves top ski destinations like Innsbruck and Salzburg in Austria, Geneva in Switzerland, Verona in Italy, and Kittilä in Finland. These routes connect travellers to some of Europe’s premier ski resorts.
