A Delta Air Lines Boeing 737-800 arriving in Austin, TX sustained damage to a wing flap assembly during the approach on 19 August 2025.
Delta Air Lines flight DL1893, operated by a Boeing 737-800, was conducting an approach to runway 18R Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS).
The flight was a scheduled service arriving from Orlando International Airport (MCO).

According to The Aviation Herald, passengers noticed that there was visible damage to the outboard left-hand flap assembly during the descent into Austin.
The flap assembly in question had suffered a partial fracture and was dislodged from its normal position.
The aircraft was able to continue the approach and landed without further incident on runway 18R Austin Bergstrom International Airport.
A subsequent FAA report confirmed that damage to the flap assembly was observed during the subsequent post flight inspection.
“Aircraft landed and post flight inspection revealed the trailing edge of the left-wing flap was bent upward.”

Flight data shows that flight DL1893 had made an on-time departure out of Orlando International Airport at 1:11 PM local time on 19 August.
Following departure the flight had set course normally, climbing to flight level FL400 for the westerly service to Austin, Texas.
Initial descent procedures were conducted normally. The damage to the wing flap assembly was noted during the subsequent descent into Austin.
